Charmify's Injustice Walk

In November 2017, Project Charmify participated in an Injustice Walk to introduce our new members to Charm City and learn about the injustices that communities in Baltimore, specifically the homeless community, face everyday. Two men who were once homeless gave us personal accounts of their own experience and a walking tour of the Penn-Fallsway area which included multiple homeless shelters, jails, courthouses, and tent cities. We highly recommend this moving and eye-opening experience to understand one of the communities of Baltimore a little better!

Welcome to Project Charmify Blog!

Welcome to the official Project Charmify blog! Here you will find updates and announcements about the critical work we are doing to improve community spaces in Baltimore. To learn more about our mission and goals, please check out the About page or click the About tab above.

To give some background about Project Charmify, the idea started in January 2016 with a group of JHU students. As part of an intersession class, they wrote a business plan and secured funding to launch their venture. In spring 2016, they hosted a Career Day for elementary students on the Ensor Street lot. Most recently, we have been accepted to the 2016-2017 Social Innovation Lab Cohort, which has allowed us to refine our mission and continue to plan our events. We will continue to post updates here in the future, so check back in soon!
